Ceramic Bottles
Students transformed disposable plastic water bottles into enduring porcelain objects through mold-making and slip casting. Working with clay, coddle boards, and two-part plaster molds, they produced multiples of their chosen bottles in porcelain slip, then bisque fired them without glaze. The project emphasized technical precision, patience, and craft, while re-framing an everyday throwaway object as a fragile, permanent artifact.
