q-pin process

The Q-Pin project was a big leap for these beginning students to take. In a way the biggest challenge was finding a way to control the communication. Since they were managing 4 different images on the pins, plus the images on the packaging, a title and short story. This kind of complex communication is difficult, especially when it is being learned alongside all the technical issues related to image making, both digital and physical.

Despite this challenge, the students rose to the occasion, and met the challenge, desinging some very compelling ideas and crafting them well. The disucssions were rich and varied, and this aspect of the project helped to contribute to the studio culture that continued for the rest of the year.
